  • Activities for hands-on massage therapy.
  • Many different massage techniques.
  • Biology and anatomy.
  • Basic principles and techniques of massage therapy.

Massage is a technique used by massage therapists to modify muscles and soft tissues using physical contact. Massage therapists’ typical tasks include:

  • Pain relief.
  • Injury prevention.
  • Improved circulation and overall health and well-being.

The massage therapist will massage the body to increase relaxation and relieve and avoid chronic pain while keeping the client’s goals and physical state in mind. Most massage therapists use their hands, but others may apply pressure on the body using their feet or elbows.

To make sure the session is pain-free, massage therapists consult with customers as they receive a massage. A career as a registered massage therapist could be ideal if you want to work in a field where you serve people and have an interest in anatomy. Massage therapists help customers relax, relieve physical pain, and enhance circulation.

A massage therapy school will typically require you to finish at least 500 hours of coursework (or up to 1,000 hours in some cases). Your state may also need a license, certification, or other training. The biggest employers of massage therapists in 2020, to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, were:

  • Self-employed workers.
  • Personal care services.
  • Offices of all other health practitioners.
  • Offices of chiropractors.
  • Accommodation.

The perfect person for this fast-paced position must be able to assist in managing the little things that keep a clinic running smoothly.

To foster a healthy environment, they should also be a competent communicator and work well with patients and healthcare professionals. Find out more about being a medical administrative assistant if this describes you.

Medical administrative assistants carry out crucial tasks that maintain the smooth operation of medical offices and the regular business of healthcare facilities. Administrative tasks carried out by medical administrative assistants include taking phone calls, helping patients with paperwork, setting up appointments, and requesting referrals.

Additionally, they help the medical office with daily tasks, including ordering supplies, keeping the books, and sorting mail. Medical administrative assistants can work in various clinics and have flexible positions. Medical Assisting

Medical assisting might be a fantastic career choice for those who want to enter the fast-paced world of a medical office without having to spend years and years studying in medical school. A medical assistant is essential to many medical practices, hospitals, and outpatient care facilities.

In a hospital or clinic, a medical assistant assists doctors and patients.

They blend intriguing medical activities like collecting vital signs or giving medication with routine office chores like making appointments or handling clerical jobs. Here is all the information you need to become a medical assistant, whether working in medicine has long been your passion or you are just getting started.

You can find a rewarding profession in the medical field, helping both psychologically and financially. With the baby boomer generation becoming more medically dependent as they age, the health care sector will expand more quickly than any other in the upcoming years.

According to the BLS, longer lifespans and an older population contribute to the national demand for medical assistants. As Americans get older, they seek more preventive medical care, which doctors frequently give. The BLS predicts that, as a result, doctors would hire more assistants to carry out mundane administrative and clinical tasks.

By reducing their burden, doctors could see more patients by employing more medical assistants. According to the BLS, many group practices, clinics, and other healthcare institutions will also require support personnel, notably physician assistants, to carry out administrative and clinical tasks.

Primary care, a segment of the healthcare industry that is steadily expanding, employs the majority of medical assistants. Medical assistants perform various clinical and administrative activities in medical environments like doctors’ offices, hospitals, and care facilities.

Due to the wide variety of medical assistants’ settings, responsibilities might vary significantly based on the type of care provided, the facility’s size, and the attending physicians’ specialty. The BLS lists a few tasks that medical assistants may perform:

  • Keep track of patient details and personal information.
  • Check vital signs, including blood pressure.
  • Assist doctors in performing patient examinations
  • Administer drugs or injections to patients as prescribed by doctors and as permitted by state law.
  • Arrange appointments for patients
  • Gather blood samples for laboratory examinations.
  • Adding patient data to medical records

A medical assistant’s job is also changing. A medical assistant will probably need to become accustomed to electronic health record (EHR) software as the federal government pushes for the electronic storage of medical records as EHRs.

Medical Billing and Coding

The Medical Billing and Coding curriculum at Carrington gives aspiring medical secretaries the information and abilities they need to execute medical coding, handle medical insurance billing, and process claims in the healthcare industry.

While a medical biller presents those codes to various entities for payment, a medical coder converts patient records into different languages. Like the medical coder, the medical biller must be able to read medical records and be conversant with the various code languages.

To ensure that the medical practice receives payment, medical billers must monitor claims to provide insurance companies handle them correctly. This calls for meticulous record keeping. Depending on where they work, medical billers may have different responsibilities.

Both front- and back-office tasks might fall under this category, such as acquiring patient data, confirming insurance coverage, examining past authorizations, obtaining patient copayments, and ensuring that medical codes are correct before sending them to payers.

It will depend on your schedule, the school you attend, and how long it will take to finish a Medical Billing and Coding program. However, in as little as nine months, students can complete Carrington’s program with a Certificate of Achievement. By location and state of residence, several programs are available.

A technical understanding of the terminology used by health insurance companies and medical experts is necessary for medical billing and coding. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical secretaries and administrative assistants need to know the medical language, codes, medical records, and hospital or laboratory procedures.

Medical Billing and Coding Theory and Applications are mandatory courses for Carrington Medical Billing and Coding program students. Additionally, students complete a capstone project or an externship.

While job names may change, the following are some examples of jobs that someone with a Medical Billing and Coding Certificate might be able to obtain:

  • Office assistants and medical secretaries.
  • Medical records experts.
  • Account and bill collectors.
  • General office personnel.

The Fox California, sometimes known as the Fox, is a lavish, secure, and pleasant theater built in 1929 by Fox West Coast Theaters. One of the grandest occasions in the area was Fox’s opening on October 14, 1930. With 2,170 seats, The Fox is California’s biggest vaudeville theater.

The theater was one of the most secure structures at the time because it was entirely of cement and steel and had a two-minute evacuation time for visitors. The theater’s $40,000 (in 1930) three-manual Wurlitzer pipe organ with twin pipe lofts is one of its crown jewels.

The theater had a complete renovation in the late 1990s and early 2000s, changing its name to the Bob Hope. The main chamber and foyer have elaborate wood carvings and murals that guests can admire. A marble mosaic with a water theme is in the place of the original water feature in the lobby.

The Friends of the Fox restored and donated a 1928 Robert Morton theater organ to the Seattle Fox Theater, which was last played over 50 years ago. On the 2nd Friday of every month, yearly organ concerts precede classic movie showings. To schedule a theater tour, call the number on their website.
