The Capability of Transferring Credits
When evaluating transcripts to determine whether or not certain credits can transfer into degree programs at Platt College, the following requirements are mandatory:
- The coursework was from an institution of higher education that holds appropriate accreditation.
- These classes were within the past eight years.
- For admission into the Vocational Nursing Program, candidates must have a grade of “C” or above in all of their previous coursework, which must have been within the past five years.
- These classes are comparable to those at Platt College in terms of the subject matter covered and the number of credit hours awarded.
- The academic year that corresponds to the classes suitable for transfer is evident.
- The Associate Degree level classes at Platt College are the only ones that can get a waiver if you take courses during your first or second year.
- Platt College may eliminate requirements for the Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree if a student has completed equivalent coursework at the junior or senior level.
- One transferable course can never satisfy the needs of more than one Platt College class.
- The student completed all classes that count toward transfer with at least a grade of “C” or a 2.0-grade point average.
- A student must provide official transcripts for transfer credit consideration for Platt College to accept their application to waive Platt College courses.
- Transfer credit will not be possible for any of Platt College’s classes until you provide accurate transcripts.
- Students who wish to transfer credits into Platt College for any program must deliver an official transcript to the Dean of Academics within thirty (30) days from starting their program. This requirement takes effect regardless of the program the student enrolls in.
- The student cannot request transfer credit for a class or classes they are already in or for which they are planning to attend. After recording the attendance, receiving TC credit for the course is no longer possible.
- Consideration of exceptions to any of the provisions is on an individual basis.
- The student’s grade point average does not consider credits from another institution.
Earning Academic Credit Through Practical Experience
If an applicant has the necessary amount of relevant work experience, Platt College Riverside may be able to dismiss some of the applicant’s required coursework. A study of the applicant’s work experience and the successful completion of applicable examinations will determine any requests for exemptions.
The applicant must have all of the following requirements to be eligible to request a waiver:
- You must submit a CV with two years of experience in the field.
- Please include at least two letters of professional reference with your submission.
- The submission of a professional portfolio, which the Dean of Academics or a designee must assess, may be necessary for applicants who desire to be exempt from taking a particular course.
- The applicant must have completed and passed the final test for the course they wish to waive, with a grade of 3.7 or higher (or an A- or higher).
- After approving the student’s request to have the course waived due to Experiential Learning, a grade of TC will appear on the student’s transcript.
- Within the first 30 days of the student’s start date in their selected program, the student must submit an application to the Dean of Academics or a designee to be eligible for a course waiver through the Experiential Learning program at Platt College.
The Maximum Number of Credits That You May Transfer
The total number of credits that Platt College Riverside campus can waive for a student, either through the transfer of college course credits from schools that the student has attended in the past or through Experiential Learning, is not more than fifty percent (50%) of the student’s program.
On an individual basis, exceptions to any of the provisions above may be a discussion and evaluation with the Academic Dean, the Campus President, and the Director of Student and Academic Affairs.
The decision about whether or not a university will accept the credits you earn at Platt College in Riverside lies entirely within the purview of the institution to which you may wish to transfer after completing your studies there.
The degree, diploma, or certificate you obtain in your program is subject to the sole discretion of the educational establishment to which you may wish to transfer if you decide to do so.
Suppose the degree, diploma, or certificate you earn at this institution is not valid at the institution you wish to transfer. In that case, you may need to repeat some or all of the coursework at that institution. This is the case if the degree, diploma, or certificate you earn at this institution is not valid at the institution to which you wish to transfer.
Because of this, you need to ensure that enrolling in this school will help you achieve the educational objectives that you have set for yourself.
This may include contacting an educational establishment to which you may choose to transfer after completing your studies at Platt College to determine whether or not your credits, degree, diploma, or certificate will transfer.

The Practice of Vet Tech
The Vet Technology Program at the Platt School of Medical Sciences delivers the comprehensive education and practical experience essential to securing an entry-level position in animal health care.
You can complete the requirements for an Associate of Science degree in Vet Technology in as little as 19 months!
Many of the jobs that nurses and other professionals do for physicians are also performed by veterinary technicians, as many of these tasks are for veterinarians.
These responsibilities often include regular animal care, help during surgical procedures, medical treatment, laboratory tests, x-rays, and anesthesia.
In animal clinical health care settings such as small or large animal hospitals or clinics, as well as nursing and critical care radiography, veterinary technicians often work in close collaboration with veterinarians.
As Veterinary Technicians progress in their careers, many move through the ranks to supervisory and managerial roles in animal hospitals and other businesses that provide services to animals.
Graduates of the Veterinary Technology program at Platt College are eligible to receive an Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology after completing the program requirements.
Graduates of schools with AVMA certification qualify for the Veterinary Technology National Examination (VTNE).

How to Get Started with Financial Assistance
A student must meet the following requirements to be eligible for federal financial aid:
- Be enrolled as a regular student in a suitable program of study at least on a half-time basis (except the Pell and FSEOG grants);
- Hold a valid diploma from an accredited high school or the international equivalent;
- You must either be a US citizen or a non-citizen who meets certain requirements to participate. Verification of the non-eligibility citizens may be necessary
- Have a demonstrated need for financial assistance (except some loan programs), as assessed by a need assessment mechanism that the Department approves of Education;
- Continue making acceptable academic progress;
- Please provide the necessary evidence so that we can complete the verification procedure and determine your dependency status;
- possess a Social Security Number that is still active;
- Not have borrowed an amount that is greater than the annual maximum allowed under the combined loan restrictions for Title IV financial aid programs;
- Ensure that you register for the Selective Service if it is necessary;
- You must sign an updated Statement of Educational Purpose/Certification Statement about refunds and defaults.
How Do They Decide Who is Eligible for What Kind of Financial Aid?
The Free Application for Federal Student Help, more often known as the FAFSA, is the standard form used to evaluate whether or not you are eligible for financial aid. To start filling out the FAFSA, you must register with the Department of Education to receive a personal identification number (PIN).
Code of Conduct Regarding Financial Loans
Our officers, employees, agents, and other organizations associated with Platt College have all agreed to the provisions of this Code of Conduct and will refrain from the following behavior: refusing to certify an education loan based on a borrower’s choice of lender or delaying the certification of an education loan.
When a first-time borrower matches with a specific private school loan lender, either through the student’s financial aid award or another method, the process is popular as matching.
Including a private education loan as part of an award package for financial assistance to a student, except in situations in which the student is ineligible for other forms of financial assistance, has exhausted all of their eligibility for federal student aid, has not submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or refuses to apply for a federal student loan.
Acceptance of unwelcome gifts, commodities, or services from a lender, servicer, or guarantor violates the loan’s terms. The establishment can take instructional services or materials linked to default prevention, financial literacy, student aid, or other topics with a nominal value and other products.
Accept charitable donations from a lender, lender servicer, or guarantor that connects to the educational loans given by the organization contributing.
Participating in an advisory council for a lender, lender affiliate, or lender servicer, either by serving on the council or in another capacity as a council member.
Accepting as compensation for any consulting arrangement or other contracts to provide education loan-related services to or on behalf of a lender any fee, payment, or other financial benefits (including benefits that may accrue from a revenue-sharing agreement) offered by the lender or one of the lender’s affiliates.

The Academic Dean of the campus is responsible for acting as the designated Campus Disability Coordinator. A student with a handicap must get in touch with the Campus Disability Coordinator to submit a request for academic accommodations.
All inquiries regarding academic adjustments have to be via the Campus Disability Coordinator. A non-profit organization that provides free access to museum exhibits, guided interpretive tours, and educational activities for the general public.

However, it serves as an oasis for native plant and animal life, supported by the water.
California Citrus State Historic Park
This park on 300 acres (121.40 hectares) highlights the tale of the citrus business’s role in the history and development of California while also preserving some of the rapidly disappearing cultural landscape associated with the citrus industry. There will be fruit tastings available at the visitor center and museum.
Please make time to visit our museum and tourist center, which is open on Fridays – Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
